Give me the words, ideals and actions of Zeeshan Aleem, Zohran Mamdani, Viet Thanh Nguyen, Toni Morrison, Safa Joudeh, Francesca Albanese, Team Zeteo, and so many others over repugnant MAGA "christian" nationalist dip-squats and dithering so-called democrats any day.

The social assailants are not Christian in the authentic sense. They are hatemongers doing the work of evil as fostered by Satan. "Get thee behind me, Satan!" The rise in Christian nationalism / fascism augments the rise in national satanism and sadism. They are purveyors of wickedness, a cult of the Anti-Christ.

As an outsider to America and an outsider to “non-white” immigrant and immigrant heritage experience, this is a great insight for me, Zeeshan! Thanks. I’m currently reading Akhtar’s Homeland Elegies which draws together the same picture so powerfully. A recommend to anyone in the comments wanting to read more on this (externally enforced) liminal kind of American identity for certain groups of people and what that says about the state of the nation.

Oh man, I think it's great - in terms of insight, information, and the gentle but interesting thing it does with form. Speaks to events as a novel should without losing depth or complexity; without trying to make things easy. Would love to hear your thoughts on it if you read it.

"He has made the mistake of being an immigrant Muslim, a charismatic leftist..." I think the trigger word here is CHARISMATIC. It's no big deal when you're building the apps, working in the fields, and raising the children. Running the country, though? Unfortunately, some have forgotten the foresight of our forefathers. I know they're not reading this column, but it bears repeating, things didn't turn out well for the Nazi's.

Identify politics has always been a feature of American society. Whether anti-Irish, anti-Catholic, or anti-Jewish the real issue was anti-different.
